New Film village in Yangang, Sikkim

The Chairperson of the Sikkim Film Promotion Board, Pooja Sharma, and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Secretary, Government of India  Rajesh Agarwal, met at Shram Shakti Bhavan in New Delhi on Thursday.

During the meeting, Chairperson  Sharma informed the Secretary about developmental activities carried out by the Board and also apprised that Sikkim government proposes to set up film village in Yangang, South Sikkim which would be the first film village in the entire North East region. She submitted a proposal for developing film, fashion, lifestyle and entertainment industry in Sikkim.

Secretary Rajesh Agarwal praised Sikkim and suggested that entrepreneurship in the whole region would boost the film sector as well as the fashion industry. This would ensure that the talented youth from the region get the necessary platform and be self reliant. He also assured to help set up the Fashion Industry in Sikkim in alliance with National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and extended all possible support from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India.
